Using Digital Explorer’s pioneering model, your own expedition can have a far greater impact across the whole school community. Through the use of technology, learning from the expedition can be transmitted back to the UK classroom on a daily basis. The digital media from the expedition can then form the basis for curriculum-based learning, and complement existing schemes of work.
This model works by inspiring a greater emotional engagement in the wider world for the entire school community through:
- Capturing the power of pupil to pupil learning
- Extending the excitement of the journey
- Utilising the latest technology
- Enhancing curriculum-based learning
Training Format
Digital Explorer provides each school or youth expedition team with the capacity for pupils to make curriculum-based digital media and transmit it from an overseas expedition or project back to the UK classroom.
The [de] youth expedition comprises four areas:
- Training – 3 trainers working with the expedition team for 1 day
- Website – an expedition website, based on a template incorporating all we have learnt about communicating from the field, and changed to show your school’s branding and represent the expedition destination and goals
- Consultancy – we will work with the teaching staff to devise curriculum links and resources to fit with the expedition
- Equipment - advice on what equipment to use, and options on purchase and hire of equipment you may need
Please contact Digital Explorer to discuss more.
